Reviving the anime spirit

I think I mentioned in passing that Dan and I went to Otakon! We're back in touch with a group of friends we used to go with back in the day. We're also planning on going to AnimeUSA in October! I'm not sure I'll make a third this year since there isn't anything too local for the rest of the year. But hey, two cons in 3 months ain't bad!

RRRRRRPPPPPP!!!!

Dude, I love our campaign. Its growing and going nuts.

Cool J is GMing and the main players are Dan, Pedro, Luke, and myself. But so far we've also thrown KFJ, Katie, and Chris into the mix for a game here and there. And man, its a blast. Dan and I are always so excited when a game comes up. We've had a handful of sessions now, and its going strong.

Clay mugs ahoy!

When I went to Otakon, there were a couple of girls selling clay mugs, like the kind I want to be able to make one day, and I talked to them about how to get started. They suggested I look for classes in clay throwing, which creates the style of mug I like.

I've looked it up and there's actually a studio right in Jersey City! Classes are like $300+ but that's for 10 sessions. $30 a class isn't so bad, especially cuz it includes all the tools I'll need. It starts in october so if I start saving up..! If not I'll go for it next semester.

So much clothing...

I'm going through a bunch of my clothes for the move and I've got two bags full now of stuff I'm donating. It feels good both to be getting rid of stuff that's taking up my space and giving knowing it'll help someone out.

Moving! Yay!

So Dan and I have been apartment hunting, and this will help me work on a number of different items on this list. For example:

  • The kitchen is awesome. Its got new appliances and lot more room than our last one.
  • Dan's folks found us a queen sized bed that we'll be moving into the place.
  • This place is a lot closer to the tunnel and it should make my commute shorter!
  • Once we're unpacked there should be enough room in the new place to get rid of our all the boxes!

To give is better than to recieve

In July, I was shopping in Chester, NJ when I came accross miniature blown glass animal figurines like the ones I collect. Not only did this help me work on my glass collection goal from this list, but one of the critters was a cow which reminded me of my friend Jenn. I picked it up and mailed it to her. She <3's it.

I hadn't talked to her in a while, just for lack of much new stuff to say I guess. The little cow helped to innitiate conversation again. I love my friends.... and little cows.

espaƱol¡

My friend David tought me that verbs are conjugated depending on the people who are performing them or are referring to.

you - 'a' ending
we - 'os' ending

and there were a lot of others which I'm sure will make more sense when I actually know more Spanish.

Oh also, some corrections from the last spanish post, Enero - January, Febrero- February, and Junio - June, Agosto - August.

"Vamos a Cape Cod en Agosto." - We're going to Cape Cod in August.
